About the Role:

    • We are looking for a highly motivated, people-centric leader to lead and inspire the Consumer Operations team in Mumbai, India. PayU Finance is the credit and lending arm of the PayU brand (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Prosus group. Previously Naspers group, headquartered in Netherlands). PayU Finance is among the leading digital lenders in the country, providing consumers with easy access to affordable loans. As the Head of Consumer Operations, you will be leading the function and scaling it to industry-leading standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance, leveraging technology for efficiency, and focusing on team development. You will work closely with the leadership of the company and will be pivotal in driving efficiency, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

What you’ll be doing:

    • Lead and manage the operations team responsible for accurate and timely reconciliation and settlement across different products in the company
    • Manage banking relationships and timely bank account reconciliations, settlement to merchants, and,repayment reconciliation.
    • Partner with treasury and finance teams for fund management and month end reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements such as KYC, Anti-Money Laundering, Transaction Monitoring, Bureau Reporting etc.
    • Oversee timely reporting and circulation of MIS to relevant internal stakeholder groups
    • Identify and re-engineer processes on an ongoing basis and taking corrective action in a timely manner. Leverage technology to automate and streamline the different processes
    • Manage audit requirement and oversee documentation of policies and procedures.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, risk, product, customer support, finance, and compliance, to enhance operational performance.
    • Focus on team development by recruiting, training, and developing a high-performing operations team.

What are we looking for?

    • 15 years of experience and 3+ years in a managing operational function.
    • Experience in Bank or NBFC is a must have.
    • Understanding of systems and a strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills in working with leadership and other stakeholders.
    • Proven track record of managing and motivating direct and indirect teams, and the ability to manage team leaders.
