Role:  Lead – Operational Risk

About the Role:
We’re looking for an expert to lead Operational Risk in the second line of defence for our regulated businesses in India.
●As a regulated business, our second line of defence team plays a critical role in assuring and testing the Risk and Audit health of PayU within the broader financial ecosystem. 
●The successful candidate will report to the Head of Risk and Audit of PayU Payment Pvt. Ltd. 
●You will design, implement, and manage core elements of an Operational Risk Management Framework. 
●You will also review, challenge, and assist executive management, business line leadership, and risk owners in the implementation of effective operational risk management practices. 
About the team:
The Risk and Audit team of PayU Payments in India is responcible for overall Enterprise risk governance for PayU entities including Payement, Wibmo and Neo banking. The team also partners with Prosus Audit team to ensure effective Audit goverance for the respective entities in India.

 What you’ll be doing:
●Establish and maintain the Independent Risk Management perspective on change management risk across the firms diverse set of business groups and enterprise functions.
●Provide second line oversight and assurance on operational risk management 
●Ensuring that operational risk mitigation is properly designed and operating effectively and efficiently is a core component of the role, in addition to assessing whether it is within the risk appetite limits.
●Your key role in PayU’s enterprise risk management program for our regulated entities in India will enable PayU to manage operational risk effectively in line with policy and regulatory requirements. This will entail performing an important role in the identification, assessment, management, and reporting of operational risk across business. 
●Play an integral role on our second line Enterprise Risk and Audit team. 
●Help to scale our enterprise risk management frameworks for our regulated entities, including:
oDevelop and own an Operational Risk Framework (core component of the Enterprise Risk Management Programme) and supporting control programmes
oReview, challenge, and assist the first line of defence with their operational risk management practices, providing guidance, training, and communication as needed
oDevelop and operationalise key policies, standards, procedures, and processes for the identification and management of all material operational risk areas
oFor significant operational risk events or incidents, review and analyse trends, lessons learned and recommend remedial activities
oEffectively communicate operational-risk related topics internally within your team and with your cross-functional stakeholders
oEvaluate, monitor, and test our operational risk controls, policies, procedures, and processes, in the context of PayU’s products and business lines
oAssist with cross-functional operational risk management and remediation projects. 

What are we looking for?
●Qualified CA /Post Graduate or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration-related area.
●Demonstrated understanding and specialist expertise of the operational risk issues that a company like PayU faces
●12 to 15 years of experience in risk, audit, or other control functions in the financial services industry, preferably in fintech/payments  
●Strong critical thinking, analytical, and data-driven skills
●Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
●An aptitude for working in a regulated environment and building risk and Audit by design
●An ability to find solutions to complex and hard problems and turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans
●The horsepower to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities and workstreams
