WHO WE ARE

Ovoko is transforming Europe’s €30B+ used car parts market - a massive, fragmented industry still largely offline. We connect 7,000+ scrapyard owners, car parts sellers and dismantlers with millions of buyers through our marketplace, SaaS and logistics platform, making it effortless to trade parts across borders. With over 42 million parts listed, we’ve grown into one of Europe’s fastest-scaling e-commerce companies, but the real opportunity lies ahead, as we build a real category-defining platform worldwide.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ovoko ships across 25+ European countries, through more than a dozen carrier integrations. Every shipping price shown to a buyer, every label approved for generation, every carrier fallback when a provider goes down, every shipping cost forecast Finance plans around - all of it depends on a single system being accurate, fast, and reliable. That system does not fully exist yet in the way it needs to.

That is what the Shipping Costs team is building.

As a Product Manager for Shipping Costs, you will own the cost calculation engine that underpins every pricing decision at Ovoko, the guardrail and carrier selection layer in the live label-generation critical path, the failover re-routing logic that keeps shipments moving when a provider is unavailable, the volume steering mechanism that shapes which carrier options buyers see in the marketplace, and the pricing configuration tool the pricing specialist uses to set what buyers pay. You will also own the shipping cost forecasts and accruals Finance depends on for planning and accounting close.

You will not set prices, negotiate carrier contracts, or decide which carriers Ovoko uses. Those decisions belong to the pricing specialist and Strategic Partnership Managers. Your job is the infrastructure underneath those decisions: a cost number accurate enough to price against confidently, a routing layer reliable enough to be invisible, and forecasting outputs Finance can close the books on.

Your focus areas:

  • Cost calculation accuracy - owning Checkout Cost Accuracy Rate and Aggregate Cost Accuracy Rate as the two metrics that determine whether the cost engine can be trusted at the shipment level and the invoice level

  • Guardrail and carrier selection - the real-time decisioning layer that approves or blocks a carrier and route before every label is generated, incorporating live carrier performance data

  • Failover re-routing - the logic that finds a working alternative carrier automatically when a provider goes down, without human intervention

  • Volume steering - the mechanism by which carrier options are ranked and presented to buyers in the marketplace to meet commercial volume commitments

  • Pricing tool - the configuration interface the pricing specialist uses to set and publish shipping prices, without engineering involvement for routine changes

  • Shipping cost forecasting and accruals - accurate, reconciled cost estimates delivered to Finance on a defined cadence

This is not a feature PM role. This is a cost and decisioning infrastructure role where your outputs directly determine whether the pricing specialist can price with confidence, whether label generation flows without stalls, and whether Finance closes the books on numbers that hold up.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Own cost accuracy: Define what accurate means at both the shipment and aggregate level, build the monitoring that catches drift, and drive cost calculation errors to root cause with engineering.

  • Own the guardrail layer: Maintain the real-time system that approves or blocks carrier and route combinations before every label is generated. Availability and response time are your product requirements to define and hold.

  • Own failover re-routing: Ensure that when a provider is unresponsive, the system finds and returns a working alternative automatically. A stalled shipment is a product failure, not a degraded state.

  • Own volume steering: Build and operate the mechanism that ranks and presents carrier options to buyers, including the ability to promote or deprioritize specific carriers to meet commercial targets.

  • Own the pricing tool: Build and maintain the interface the pricing specialist depends on. Price changes should not require an engineering ticket.

  • Own forecasting and accruals: Deliver shipping cost estimates to Finance that are accurate enough to plan against and reconcile cleanly against actual invoices.

  • Act as the bridge: Be precise about what this team owns, what it produces, and where the handoff to the pricing specialist, Shipping Platform, Shipping Network, and Finance sits.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner, ideally in logistics, marketplace pricing, financial infrastructure, or systems where a calculated number feeds directly into another team's decision.

  • Experience owning real-time or operational systems where latency and availability are product requirements, not engineering concerns.

  • Experience building internal tools or data products for non-technical stakeholders (pricing teams, finance, operations) where the measure of success is accuracy and reliability, not engagement metrics.

  • Strong cost and accuracy thinking: able to define what accurate means at multiple levels of aggregation simultaneously, and diagnose which level is drifting and why.

  • Technical fluency: comfortable discussing APIs, rate card data structures, routing logic, and backend data flows with engineering in detail.

  • Structured problem solver who can diagnose cost calculation errors across multiple possible root causes (bad rate card data, incorrect weight and dimension inputs, wrong carrier assignment) without waiting for engineering to do the initial triage.

  • Discipline around scope: clear and consistent about what this team owns and what it doesn't, even under pressure from teams that depend on its outputs.
