About Orasio

Orasio builds cutting-edge solutions that automatically detect situations of interest in video streams. Powered by advanced AI models trained to extract actionable insights from imagery, our technology is designed to be deployed within both existing and new infrastructures, across public and private sectors, civilian or military, while strictly adhering to legal and privacy frameworks.

As artificial intelligence becomes a key pillar of technological sovereignty, Orasio’s mission is to become Europe’s leading video intelligence company. We develop world-class AI solutions tailored to defense and public safety needs, combining technical excellence with a deep respect for data protection laws.

The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Deployment to build and lead the function that gets Orasio's solutions live in highly constrained environments.

This is a founding role. In the early phase you will be deeply hands-on: personally leading the first deployments, sizing the hardware, standing up the tooling, and troubleshooting on-site. As we scale, your role shifts toward leadership: building and mentoring a team of Deployment Engineers, and building the playbooks, tooling, and enablement that let our systems integrators deploy and maintain Orasio autonomously, with your team as the technical authority behind them rather than the hands on every install.

This role, reporting to the GTM organization, sits at the intersection of technical expertise and customer-facing work, bridging Orasio’s engineering and Sales teams.

Your work will go live in some of the most sensitive environments for national security: police forces, intelligence services, cities, and critical infrastructure. You will be the person who embodies Orasio's technical credibility in these demanding environments.

Please note this role involves frequent travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Build & lead the deployment function:

    • Define the operating model, standards, responsibilities, and success metrics for Orasio’s deployment function.

    • Build the processes and tooling required to make deployments predictable, repeatable, and increasingly easier.

    • Recruit, mentor, and grow a team of Technical Success Managers, and set the standards and playbook for how Orasio is deployed.

    • Build what makes integrators autonomous: certification, training, reference architectures, docs, and a clear escalation path.

  • Industrialize deployments:

    • Turn early customer-specific deployment experience into reusable architectures, playbooks, checklists, automation, and documentation.

    • Reduce the level of manual intervention required for each deployment.

    • Work with Engineering and Product to identify recurring field issues that should be solved in the core product or platform.

    • Ensure that exceptions and custom requirements remain controlled and do not undermine product scalability.

    • Define clear go-live, acceptance, handover, and production-readiness criteria.

  • Own infrastructure sizing and deployment readiness:

    • Define sizing methodologies for compute, GPU, memory, storage, network, retention, stream count, resolution, frame rate, and latency.

    • Ensure deployment designs are cost-aware, maintainable, secure, and adapted to customer growth.

    • Establish validation procedures before customer environments move into production.

  • Drive preventive maintenance & operability:

    • Stand up the tooling that keeps deployments healthy: monitoring, health checks, alerting, log collection, and maintenance procedures built for disconnected sites.

    • Write the runbooks and operational docs that let integrators and customers keep systems running.

  • Lead integration & troubleshooting:

    • Coordinate resolution across customers, integrators, Engineering, Platform, Product, and commercial teams.

    • On early sites, do the integration yourself: install and configure alongside existing systems (VMS such as Milestone or Genetec, storage, RBAC, network segmentation).

    • Later, act as the escalation point for integrators and own the hardest problems across the full stack, on-site and offline.

  • Shape long-term platform & hardware strategy:

    • Own the multi-year technical picture per account: capacity growth, hardware refresh, platform upgrades.

    • Turn field feedback into a hardware and platform evolution strategy, and feed it to the Engineering Platform Team.

    • Take customers past rollout toward lasting adoption, measurable value, and readiness for renewal or expansion.

Ideal Profile

  • 6+ years in technical, customer-facing roles within constrained environments (field/deployment engineering, solutions engineering, technical pre-sales, or systems integration), ideally on-premise, secure, or air-gapped.

  • Experience leading or mentoring a technical team, or the clear appetite to build a team from scratch.

  • Strong infrastructure fundamentals: Linux, networking, storage, and a real interest in both software and hardware.

  • Working knowledge of GPU compute and containerized workloads: NVIDIA drivers/CUDA and orchestration at an operational level, comfortable troubleshooting k3s clusters.

  • A solid grasp of how AI inference maps to hardware, enough to size, deploy, monitor, and debug without developing the application itself.

  • Capacity planning sense: able to turn an operational need into a concrete, cost-aware specification.

  • Comfortable scripting for automation and operations (bash/Python).

  • Excellent stakeholder management, as at ease with a client DSI as with an integrator's engineers or an operator on the ground.

  • Comfortable with rapid iteration, high-stakes regulated conditions, and extensive on-site travel.

  • A genuine sense of mission and real enthusiasm for security and public safety environments.

  • Fluency in French and English.

  • Given the sensitivity of our work, European nationality, eligibility for security clearance, and a strong ability to handle confidential information are required.

  • Bonus

    • Video pipelines and VMS (RTSP/ONVIF, H.264/H.265, Milestone/Genetec), or a background at a systems integrator.

    • Experience in Public sector, Defense, or Internal Security.

    • Familiarity with security accreditation and homologation processes (ANSSI, SecNumCloud, DR).

    • Running GPU/HPC infrastructure in production, or building the monitoring and preventive-maintenance tooling around it.

    • Entrepreneurial or early-stage experience, and comfort bridging software and hardware.
