To further strengthen our team, we are looking for an IP Legal Counsel with Technical Expertise, blending strong legal knowledge with a solid technical background.

Tasks

    • Lead and support IP-related litigation cases, including patent disputes, oppositions, and enforcement actions.
    • Provide legal opinions for potential infringements and prior art challenges.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to protect the company’s IP rights.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive IP strategy aligned with business objectives.
    • Advise management and R&D teams on IP risks and opportunities in product development.
    • Monitor and manage compliance with international IP laws and regulations.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related contracts, including licensing agreements and NDAs.
    • Support licensing negotiations and technology transfer agreements.
    • Advise on contractual IP clauses for partnerships and collaborations.
    • Work closely with inventors to translate technical innovations into strong patents.
    • Analyze patent landscapes and conduct Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) searches.
    • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and external patent attorneys.
    • Manage IP-related budgets and cost control measures.
    • Ensure efficient allocation of resources for IP prosecution, litigation, and maintenance.

Requirements

    • Degree in engineering sciences (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, optics, or related fields). MSc/PhD preferred.
    • Law degree or certification in intellectual property law is highly advantageous.
    • Proven expertise in international IP law and patent litigation.
    • Experience drafting and prosecuting patents, as well as managing IP portfolios.
    • Familiarity with technical concepts in mechanics, optics, and electronics.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in legal and technical contexts.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English (German is a plus).
    • Highly organized and capable of handling complex legal and technical tasks independently.
