The Role
The Talent Engagement Specialist ensures every potential Opencast candidate has the best possible experience. The role owns and elevates the end-to-end hiring journey, ensuring it is smooth, inclusive and objective. Through creative direct sourcing, talent pooling and relationship building, the role attracts new talent, develops diverse pipelines and strong networks. It also tells the Opencast story authentically across our job families. Workforce plans are translated into practical hiring strategies, aligning activity to demand so we meet the needs of our growing business.
Key Responsibilities
• Source and identify tech talent across the UK in line with the hiring strategy
• Proactively build and maintain diverse talent pipelines using direct sourcing, networking, referrals events and talent pools
• Review applications and assess candidates for skills, values alignment and support early-stage interviews
• Manage the full candidate journey ensuring clear communication, timely feedback and accurate system records
• Create and update job adverts and candidate-facing content, partnering with Marketing on campaigns
• Work with recruitment agencies and partners to ensure smooth, compliant candidate submissions
• Support data reporting, sharing pipeline activity and market insights with the team
• Immerse yourself in the industry, representing Opencast at events, meet-ups and open days
• Work closely with planning and allocation to align talent pipelines with workforce plans
• Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Opencast’s quality, environmental, and information security policies and procedures
Skills and Experience
• Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or people operations; ideally in technology or high-growth organisations
• Confidence using applicant tracking systems and sourcing platforms to build, nurture, and maintain diverse talent pipelines
• Clear, thoughtful communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with candidates over time
• Good understanding of competency-based interviewing, fair hiring practices and recruitment compliance
• Experience delivering an inclusive, high quality candidate experience and contributing to employer brand activity
• Comfortable using recruitment data and metrics to improve engagement, time to hire and quality of hire
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple roles and priorities effectively
• Collaborative team player who works well with hiring managers and contributes positively to the team
• Resilient and proactive with an open mindset to feedback, learning and continuous improvement
• Experience delivering recruitment training and good market knowledge

Salary: £34,000 – £40,000
