Talent Partner - Oxford
Oxford (On-site) /
People Operations – Talent Acquisition /
Full-Time
/ On-site
Our science can change the world. Our people will make that happen. And our talent team will help find those people – everyone from scientists in microscopy to sales folk. We're adding a Talent Partner based in Oxford to our ONI team who will help accelerate the growth we’re experiencing right now, as well as fuel our ambitions as we take our business to the ‘next level’.
You’re already a proven in-house Talent Partner, one who’s mastered the complexity of operating across multiple roles, as well as across scientific and technical disciplines. It’s likely you’re already in the life sciences sector. Working with internal hiring managers to establish their true needs, developing plans to deliver their hires, and then keeping them engaged and informed - but relieving them of any ‘hiring burden’ - comes as second nature to you. Your interest and experience coupled with your people skills mean that you’re often contributing more widely on ‘all things people’. And of course, you love science.
You'll be reporting to Renu Menezes (VP of People) and based in our Oxford office.
Your key responsibilities are going to include:-
- Owning, managing and delivering concurrently up to 9 open roles, managing to our agreed timescales, metrics and ensuring the quality of hires meets the needs of every role
- Developing effective relationships across the organization and with our hiring managers to shape and influence your impact on the recruiting process, hiring, and onboarding
- Working alongside managers to identify each roles requirements, drafting and refining the job description and person spec for agreement with the hiring manager
- Writing engaging advertising and reaching out to attract both active and passive candidates, in-line with our agreed style and tone-of voice (a bit like this one!)
- Conducting detailed screening interviews in person and on-line with all candidates to understand and record their suitability to progress - or not - within the process
- Defining and agreeing the assessment processes from screening, interviews and tests/presentations, aligned against the agreed requirements
- Managing all candidate interactions from interview scheduling, meeting and greeting, rejections and through to the job offer, ensuring their experience is smooth and engaging
- Maintaining timely accurate records and workflows on our CMS (we use Lever) around all hiring activity, and producing metrics and analysis on the success of our approaches and campaigns
- Creating, maintaining and ensuring we have an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity, and that ONI is a beacon of diversity and inclusion
- Supporting the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including current job descriptions and person specs, with a particular focus on data, insights and actions around succession planning
- Working on projects across the whole Talent remit - alongside the UK-based HR Manager and US Talent Partner, and Renu in San Diego - on everything from performance management to development
To be successful you’re going to be scientifically/industry credible and curious with an ability to engage with managers and candidates alike, ensuring that the needs of both are aligned and met. With our goal to minimize agency usage – although we may occasionally need them – you’ll be an expert at candidate attraction using adverts, LinkedIn Recruiter, reach-out and networking, and you’ll need to be tenacious in your approach too. We’re scientists by nature so data led insights, analysis, logic and accuracy are critical, that’s how you’ll refine and improve our hiring success and capabilities too.
As part of a global team of four you’ll be sitting alongside our VP of People, so she’ll be looking to involve you in some of our wider people activities so if you have that experience that’d be great.
So, if you’re ready to join a team that’s ready to change the world you’re ready to help find the people that’ll speed us towards those goals, then we really should be speaking. You can start that conversation by applying here
