In this role you will ensure the delivery of high-quality software products by designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive test plans and the test automation tools to support them.

Your Role at ONI:

    • Design, implement, and manage test plans and test cases based on product requirements and technical specifications.
    • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to identify defects and ensure our products meet high-quality standards.
    • Collaborate with product managers to understand requirements and design test cases that adequately test features in a way that is representative of real use cases
    • Identify and report bugs, and work with the team to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolution.
    • Automate test cases using industry-standard tools and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
    • Stay current with the product roadmap, and collaborate with developers on product feature development to maintain an up-to-date test suite
    • Continuously improve QA processes and procedures to enhance overall product quality and team productivity.
    • Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and trends to bring innovative solutions to our QA process.
    • Build and manage test automation tools that integrate our desktop, browser and cloud systems.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum of 3 years as a QA Engineer or similar role in software development.
    • Strong knowledge of software QA and testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
    • Experience in designing, implementing and managing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
    • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing for desktop, browser, and cloud software
    • Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks, both for E2E tests (Cypress or Playwright) and unit and integration tests (Jest, pytest, GoogleTest, etc.)
    • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of software development best practices, including in object-oriented and functional programming
    • Hands-on knowledge of debuggers, performance optimization, and unit/integration/E2E testing frameworks
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical material to non-technical individuals

    • Experience in life sciences industry
    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
    • Proficiency in C++
