The role of Financial Controller at ONI is responsible for supporting financial control efforts, including corporate accounting, statutory, fiscal and financial reporting, financial risk management, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

As a Financial Controller you will be responsible for:

    • Accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
    • Month-end and year-end close process
    • Lead production of timely monthly consolidated financial statements
    • Assist in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
    • Partner with the business to provide insight and influence operational decision making
    • Quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
    • Manage and comply with local regulatory reporting requirements and tax filings
    • Prepare statutory reporting and internal/external audit processes
    • Research of technical accounting issues for compliance
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Assist in maintaining the Cap table including stock option grants and reporting
    • Gather and interpret information to evaluate the efficiency of financial procedures.
    • Analyze key financial data and advise senior management on strategic planning.
    • Develop and implement cost-effective financial policies and procedures, as well as mitigating financial risks.
    • Prepare financial reports and budgets, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.
    • Oversee accounting procedures and supervising junior financial department staff.
    • Monitor auditing and taxation practices, as well as evaluating benefits and compensation packages.
    • Ensure financial management policies and procedures adhere to regulatory standards.

Essential skills and qualifications:

    • Time in a Financial Controller role managing the production of monthly management accounts
    • Managing a purchase order system and maintaining the approval processes therein
    • Complex purchasing cycles which include quality control and rework
    • Operating with international purchasing with respect to the accurate recording of UK, EU and US purchase taxes and import duties  
    • Confident using Microsoft Office suite and accounting/finance tools/software
    • Numeracy and accounting skills
    • Clear and concise communication skills
    • Attention to detail when processing financial documentation
    • Able to prioritize tasks effectively and react to change in a fast-paced environment
    • To exhibit a growth mindset and actively assist in the development, refinement of accounting workflows
    • Confident using Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and accounting/finance tools/software
    • CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified
    • Highly proficient in Excel
    • Proficiency in business management and accounting software, such as Zoho Books and NetSuite.
    • Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
    • Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
    • A minimum of two years' experience as a management accountant (or higher) in a related business.
$125,000 - $145,000 a year
