In this role you will design and build modern ML analysis solutions to enable non-expert scientists to gain rapid and actionable insights using super-resolution across academic research, drug development, and diagnostics.
Your Role at ONI:
- Design and implement ML algorithms, specialising in point-cloud and image analysis, on our cloud platform. These solutions should streamline our super-resolution workflows, making them accessible and insightful for non-expert users.
- Maintain scientific rigour and correctness of new and existing techniques while making the user experience as fast and easy as possible.
- Take full ownership of the development lifecycle for key ML tools and features, from research and development to deployment and production, ensuring seamless integration into customer workflows.
- Lead the team in adopting best practices in data science and software engineering, focusing on rapid delivery of valuable solutions without sacrificing quality.
- Continuously update knowledge on the latest developments in ML algorithms, methodologies, and software tools, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of technological advancements.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineering, product management, bioware, chemistry, and hardware ensuring seamless integration and alignment of goals across all departments.
- Provide strong leadership to a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Mentor and guide team members in developing their skills and achieving professional growth.
- Oversee end-to-end execution of data science projects, from problem definition to model deployment.
Essential skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience in developing and deploying image or point-based ML-driven products from inception to completion.
- Familiarity with MLOps / DevOps best-practices.
- High level of professional Python programming skills.
- Strength in ML frameworks and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based ML deployment and training.
- Familiarity with ML software engineering and data best practices.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team of data scientists or analysts.
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Background in ML-based segmentation for imaging.
- Experience in fluorescence microscopy analysis methods.
- Proficiency in standard image processing techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud-based ML deployment and training.
- Knowledge of image processing in microscopy.
