In this role you will build intuitive, scalable, and high-performance software solutions for the automation of super-resolution microscopy. You'll work closely with Product, UX, QA, and backend engineers to deliver exceptional user experiences while leveraging modern AI-powered development practices. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, takes ownership of product outcomes, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Your Role at ONI:

Design, develop, test, and maintain modern applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

Build reusable, maintainable UI components and scalable frontend architectures.

Contribute to architecture for building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and frontend automation.

Champion engineering best practices including testing, accessibility, performance optimization, and maintainable code.

Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.

Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application design.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers

Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX designers, scientists, and backend engineers to translate user needs into high-quality software.
Essential skills and qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years experience as front end developer.

Demonstrated expertise and experience in building large scale applications.

Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.

Excellent programming skills in the following: React, JavaScript, Typescript

Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, React Context or similar).

Familiarity with database technology such as Postgress/MongoDB/MySQL.

Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on clean code.
