As our Head of Business Information Technology (BIT), you will drive OLX's global IT Operations strategies and shared services across 8 markets. 

The BIT team’s mission is managing business-critical services at scale. We are supporting internal tools that everybody at OLX is using. This puts our team at the very centre of a truly international organization.

The role will be based in Poland. You will report to the Global CIO and manage a team of 19 people, including 3 managers.

What will you be doing?

    • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of BIT Operations across multiple geographical locations;
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive BIT Operations strategy aligned with organisational objectives and priorities;
    • Lead and mentor a team of IT managers and professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence;
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise IT service delivery, efficiency, and effectiveness;
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, senior management, and external partners to ensure alignment of BIT Operations with business goals;
    • Define and communicate clear objectives, goals, and performance expectations for the BIT Operations team, and monitor progress against targets;
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for BIT Operations, ensuring cost-effective management of IT resources and expenditures;
    • Champion best practices in IT service management, governance, and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements;
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and synchronise with other IT teams to support IT-related projects and initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments;
    • Implement regular communication channels and collaborative platforms to facilitate information sharing and alignment across different BIT teams;
    • Encourage cross-training, skill-sharing, and joint problem-solving initiatives to enhance collaboration and knowledge exchange between BIT teams;
    • Represent the BIT Operations function in senior leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making;
    • Drive a culture of continuous learning and development within the BIT Operations team, promoting skill-building and career advancement opportunities;
    • Act as a spokesperson and advocate for BIT Operations both internally and externally, promoting the value of IT services and capabilities to stakeholders and customers.

What are we looking for:

    • At least 5 years of management experience in the IT environment;
    • Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments;
    • Experience with AWS, DNS, EMail systems, and SaaS Services (experience with Okta and ServiceNow would be nice to have);
    • Good knowledge of other APIs and system integrations;
    • Strong understanding of cloud best practices and experience implementing new standards and processes in Cloud environment;
    • Systematic analytical and problem-solving approach, coupled with a sense of ownership and drive;
    • Strong leadership and project management skills;
    • A degree in Computer Science would be nice to have.
