Join Our Team as an AI-native Senior Frontend Engineer!

Join one of our cross-functional teams in Motors, Real Estate, OLX Classifieds or Platforms, working remotely from Portugal! As part of our 1,000+ tech team across multiple locations, you’ll collaborate with engineers, SREs, and product teams to build scalable, high-impact solutions, while reporting to an Engineering Manager who will support your growth and impact.

You'll work on a mixed tech stack based on a microservices architecture, entirely on Amazon Web Services, with open-source libs like React and/or NextJS.

Who we are looking for:

• AI-First Mindset in Engineering: You use agentic workflows (Cursor Agent, Claude Code, or equivalent) as your default, not as a novelty. You understand model routing trade-offs and multi-agent orchestration to accelerate front-end development.

• Context Engineering: You practice context engineering, not just prompt engineering. You design the full information architecture an AI agent needs to succeed in a frontend codebase: agent context, skills, boundaries and outcome validation

• System Architecture: You architect the system so that it not only performs the given task, but does it so in a way which reduces coupling and respects component/module boundaries.

• Technical Depth & Clean Code: You have hands-on technical depth in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and modern React frameworks like Next.js and React Router/Remix. 

• Quality- and Testing-oriented Mindset: You spend your time designing robust UI architectures, steering and reviewing AI-generated code, and contributing to a high-scale repository. AI output is a first draft, not a final deliverable — you validate, refactor, and take full accountability for code and product quality.

• Product & UX Driven: You are a product-minded engineer who thinks from a user perspective. You challenge decisions with a cost/value lens and understand how frontend applications must evolve to deliver next level user experiences.

• Scale & Reliability: Experienced in architecting, performance-optimizing, and scaling frontend web applications for millions of active users. You live the "you build it, you run it, you own it" philosophy — you own testing (Playwright, Cucumber), performance metrics, and production monitoring.

• Collaborative Communicator: You communicate clearly in English across engineering and product audiences, documenting technical designs explicitly and mentoring others in the team.

What you will be doing:

• Collaborate daily with cross-craft stakeholders: backend, data and product, to develop application features for millions of users across multiple markets.

• Lead Complex Front-End Initiatives: Lead the planning, execution, and technical design of complex user-facing features. Break them into incremental milestones, manage cross-team dependencies, navigate ambiguity, and make deliberate quality-vs-delivery trade-offs.

• Uphold Engineering Standards: Maintain and elevate standards for UI performance, state management, Design System adoption, accessible HTML/DOM structures, and web performance; lead incident response and manage frontend technical debt with AI as an accelerator, not a shortcut.

• Apply Context Pipeline Discipline: Scope and maintain frontend codebase, context windows (repo boundaries, component documentation, design tokens, test outputs, and CI feedback) so AI agents consistently produce reliable, mergeable UI code on real team work items.

• Keep Codebase Agent-Ready: Write agent-actionable task specifications for your team's backlog (clear acceptance criteria, UI mockups integration, explicit constraints). Maintain well-bounded frontend components, comprehensive test suites as guardrails, and CI/CD pipelines with structured output agents can parse and act on.

• Drive AI Innovations & Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior and peer engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Actively contribute to our AI Champion community by sharing effective frontend agentic workflows, running workshops, and helping the team adopt AI-assisted development.
