We invite you to join us on a critical and exciting mission! To expand and scale our recent investments in the Generative AI area to not work on exciting projects with our internal customers, but also to pave the way for the future of OLX with LLMs and Generative AI. This is an unique opportunity to be part of a strategic movement inside the company. It’s early days, but traction of GenAI-enabled initiatives at our company is growing by the week. Two dozen use case experiments are already being planned/built/tested by teams across our CUs, with more in the pipeline, fed by e.g. the successful Hackathon organized by the Horizontals team in Jan 2024. GenAI is a key bet for OLX Europe for FY25 and beyond. As such, we have decided to build diverse Data teams to supercharge our company’s approach to GenAI. The original intent was aimed to be 18 FTE, but we have now increased the budget to ±40 FTE allocated to GenAI!

As a GenAI evangelist you will support cluster members, partner with other Leads to deliver innovative work and coordinate work across several GenAI teams spread across our Data org. Those different teams will be split into three foundational parts: platforms, transversal capabilities, and customer facing use cases. And we need you to be the link between those different areas and beyond! You'll be the voice and ears of GenAI at OLX.
What you will do in Data Science at OLX:
- Nurture a community, help identify needs for our GenAI Data community. Bridging between GenAI community and Data Scientists.
- Pair with Lead Scientists, ML Engineers, Heads of Data Science and Product across the organisation to shine a light on our continuous improvement agenda.
- Participate in coding sessions with the rest of the data science team, getting to know and scale our products in order to understand how our products work.
- Participate in events, meetups and be an active member of the data science community. Explain technology to different audiences to get their support for a certain product or technology.
- Create engaging content, including technical talks, blog posts, demos, and videos, that educates scientists on important technologies and trends
- Champion ease, clarity and transparency about the link between Data and Product.
Who we’re looking for:
- Knowledge of Generative AI and LLMs, eager to learn and enable others.
- Good knowledge of Python (for Exploratory Data Analysis is enough) as well as foundations of NLP (e.g., Transformers, Language Models, Embeddings, etc.) so that you’re confident brainstorming with technical leaders and our DS community
- Strong social skills & networking ability
- Ability to get techies excited about technologies & products
- Meaningful social presence with engaged followers
- Ability to manage the fast moving conference schedule with its CFP deadlines and show dates
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with the ability to translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
- Experience giving talks and developing demos, workshops, webinars, videos, and other technical content
- An insatiable intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn quickly in a complex space.
