About the job
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Search Engine and Ranking Engineer to join our talented teams. As a key member of our technology division, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our search algorithms to enhance the user experience and ensure the accuracy and relevance of search results. In addition, we are looking for an individual with demonstrated experience in working with multi-stakeholder environments and handling high-demanding, data-intensive products.
We value engineers who have(Qualifications):
- Experience with architecting, building and scaling low-latency and high-throughput cloud-based systems
- Experience with search platforms (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr) and custom search solutions
- Practical experience with machine learning techniques for search enhancement, including the integration of ML models into search algorithms
- Worked with Event-Driven Architecture
- Experience with various indexing strategies, including the ability to design and implement effective indexing solutions for large-scale data
- Familiarity with search analytics, including the ability to analyse user behavior and search patterns to drive improvements through experiments
- Strong background in text analysis techniques e.g. tokenization, lemmatization, synonyms, stemming, and NER techniques to enhance search quality and accuracy
- Prior experience working with AWS cloud services and deep knowledge of K8s
- Believe in self-aligned teams and the DevOps mentality "you build it, you run it" philosophy. Spin-off and tear-down infrastructure is a hands-on skillset
- Experience with Incident Management Process or Tier-1 Service managementWorked in a multi-functional team setup in a remote working environmentJVM toolkit(Kava/Kotlin) and Go as a programming language skill
Your responsibilities will include:
- Playing an integral role within a dynamic Relevance team, solidifying your and your team's technical prowess to establish credibility
- Fostering a culture of innovation, actively encouraging the conception, creation, implementation, and deployment of sophisticated scalable solutions
- Posing thoughtful questions, participating in brainstorming sessions, and taking ownership of the product development process to foster a collaborative environment
- Experimenting with novel machine learning approaches to push the boundaries of search capabilities
- Collaborating closely with the product management team, ensuring alignment to construct the optimal product that resonates with and benefits our users
- Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks through meticulous profiling, monitoring, and optimization of the search infrastructure for high-speed and low-latency responses
- Spearheading initiatives to enhance search quality through continuous refinement of ranking algorithms, query understanding mechanisms, and relevance models
