We are looking for senior engineering leaders to take on the role of Head of Engineering - Pay & Ship.

You will lead engineering strategy, operations and execution of one of the two pillars (Experience, Engagement & Monetisation) for OLX which is the top tier C2C and B2C trade marketplace brand across Europe and Central Asia markets where we operate (Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan).

The role will be located in Poznan (Poland). You will work with the Director of Engineering, OLX Pay & Ship, and will be deeply involved in growing our team of engineers, engineering & product managers in the given locations.

 

Lead, scale and encourage a team of around 40 people;

Be responsible for the engineering roadmap and work as well as contribute to the overall OLX Horizontal strategy;

Mentor and grow Engineering Managers and build an environment to attract and grow talent;

Lead architectural and system design initiatives;

Promote incremental and iterative software development;

Challenge and improve existing setups and processes, with a focus on process efficiency, automation, continuous delivery, and quality engineering;

Work together and partner with product managers by identifying and solving customer problems and needs together.

 

Most importantly we are looking for someone who is deeply curious, user-driven, has empathy and passion for solving engineering problems and building products which improve the lives of customers. Specifically, we are ideally looking for the following experience and skills:

7+ years of work experience in an international and rapid growth environment;

Experience in building and scaling engineering teams (30+ people), ideally across multiple locations or remotely;

Strong technical background and a good understanding of current technology trends;

Experience with microservice architectures in a cloud-based environment (AWS) as well as with continuous delivery focusing on fast release cycles while maintaining quality and measuring technical health;

A decision-maker that will be comfortable making difficult technical decisions to improve major aspects of the platform from architecture to the end-user experience.
