The opportunity:
As the Lead Product Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience and design strategy for Buyers and Sellers at OLX. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, impactful, and visually stunning designs that leverage OLX’s positioning to solve real-world problems.
This role requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a passion for AI-driven innovation, and the ability to lead our process, standards and rituals within the team. Our General Classifieds’ Platform team will act as a central hub, collaborating with existing teams to deliver end-to-end user experience solutions within our vertical and horizontal services, identifying and leading new user journeys, and building the connection between Sellers, Buyers, OLX’s verticals and our horizontal platform. This role is part of our "General Classifieds" organization. In GenClass, our mission is to build end user solutions that support OLX’s circular economy mission while enhancing the connection of both Sellers and Buyers in their lifestyle ecommerce experience with us. This position is based in Barcelona, Portugal, or Poland.
What you will be doing:
- Be involved in the end-to-end design, development and implementation process by translating customer problems into solutions, design from workflow and interactions to high fidelity visual designs. Experience in Service Design is a plus.
- Be able to absorb multiple sources of feedback in the process, explore multiple hypotheses and drive the decision-making process to ensure the best product experience.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, researchers, and business partners to build coherent end-to-end services.
- Lead design practice rituals and establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Rapidly design, prototype, and test concepts for services and products based on a deep understanding of business and customer needs.
- Plan and lead co-creation workshops with product teams, collaborators, and business partners.
- Communicate and influence design decisions.
- Present design work to the team for review and feedback to drive decisions and commit to final UX deliverables.
- Champion the values of experimentation, design, and product experience quality across the company and the leadership teams.
- Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and AI.
- Guiding and mentor our junior Design members in processes and sharing knowledge.
Who we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3 years of hands-on leadership influence in large-scope initiatives.
- Proven experience working on AI or data-driven products is highly desirable.
- You have proven experience and ability in all different stages, from problem definition to development, testing, and implementation of user products.
- You thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy working with unclear boundaries to shape a solution, and are a self-starter.
- You believe that being Data-Driven is the key to success for every business.
- You are a team player first and foremost and believe great things come from collaboration.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
- You are a self-starter and are solution-oriented, and you're able to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
