JOIN THE OLX PRODUCT OPERATIONS TEAM

As Product Operations, we act as an enabler for the Product organization to deliver the best value for our customer. Our mission is to support the OLX Product Organisation in its transformation to become a customer-led company by enabling the Product, Data, Marketing & Tech (PDMT) org to operate at scale and in a consistent and efficient manner. 

We are looking for a passionate Product Operations Lead to join our team. You'll be focused on delivering sustained Product Excellence and amplifying capabilities. You‘ll help the Product organisation to evolve processes and operate at scale, ensuring that what we develop is connected with both our customer and business outcomes. 

Our team partners with senior leadership (the connective tissue) to improve our product organisation’s effectiveness through practice leadership, ways of working, driving constant improvement of capability, process change and coaching of teams, for sustained performance and team health. Due to this you’ll need to manage between strategic, operational and communication components, in order to help successfully deliver great products and continuously amaze our internal and external customers.

Strategic Responsibilities

    • Connect operational programmes which cut across product management, design and research, as well as align with our tech counterparts
    • Document, and share product development best practices, methodologies, and tools, serving as an internal expert
    • Help define operational cadences within the product organization, cascading from the VP level down to the product teams
    • Promote a shared understanding of the organisation's needs and strategic direction to rally teams.
    • Communicate complex issues clearly and credibly across a wide range of audiences; deftly navigate a changing business landscape
    • Have deep knowledge of the category strategy and actively work with leadership to connect the work to that strategy
    • Build alignment among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences

What are role expectations?

    • Command operational principles/methodologies and best practice/knowledge; being a company reference for product operations within a domain or set of domains.
    • Create operational processes, tools and practices that drive efficiencies for senior leadership team (enabling quick course correction); instil data-informed mindset to the product development cycle
    • Foster a culture of excellent organisational performance through cross-functional internal and external projects to drive product culture and performance
    • Support in the coordination of monthly, quarterly and annual product planning.
    • Challenge our existing processes, supporting the senior leadership and the teams through driving constant improvement of capability transformational change
    • Coach the product organisation at various levels to perform at its best
    • Mentor team members in order to share knowledge and expertise.
    • Support the hiring of Product Operations roles

Who are we looking for?

    • 8 years of experience in a Management or Technology Consulting, Product Management, Engineering or Operations type role
    • You have a customer-centric approach to your work and will pull out all the stops to ensure that that is core to our product.
    • You have strong organisational skills and have a structured approach to solving problems.
    • You have stellar communication skills, including being empathetic to the differing and sometimes conflicting needs. You are able to challenge and push back where needed.
    • You are responsive and hands-on with all aspects of the work, including helping out other teams to get something across the line.
    • You like to bring fresh ideas to the table and drive things forward without direction.
    • You thrive in ambiguity, are a sense maker, change agent, having the ability to adapt or change course and happy to be challenged.
