We’re looking for a Design Manager to join our PDT. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively identifying, designing and implementing projects and research taking into consideration the current and future needs of the whole organization. You should be familiar with design thinking methods and apply them, using your facilitation skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You should consistently translate insights into a long-term strategy for a product as an outcome of these processes. 

Our Design Team
Our Design team is on a mission to transform the way we build products at OLX Group. We are looking for an experienced and empathetic Lead Product Designer to join our Global Product Design & Research team in driving and managing projects within our OLX Horizontal team. We are a team of 5,000 ambitious, curious people at the OLX Group, building marketplace platforms that make it super easy for anyone to buy and sell almost anything, boosting our circular economy.

In this role, you define the end-to-end experiences for our C2C and B2C users. This is a hands-on practitioner role where you‚ all have the opportunity to influence the direction of business-critical initiatives and customer journeys across OLX Europe. You'll be an advocate for Design thinking and practices within our teams and a partner with Product, Tech and Research leaders. You will have an opportunity to advocate for the value of a well-rounded perspective, and build upon the expertise of our design team.

A key focus area will also be to align business, product, design, and technology so that teams can grow their capabilities and practices. This work will include working closely with the Pay & Ship teams. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital part of OLX‚Autos success and growth!

What responsibilities will you get when working with us?

Role & Responsibilities
Works closely with cross-functional peers, prioritising and allocating tasks to deliver against business problems. Improves the Product Design chapter by actively contributing to the focus, inclusion, outcomes, engagement, and well-being of our designers. Helps designers understand how their work ladders up to company-level business goals and success. Supports and coaches designers in prioritization, getting unstuck, and on how to drive initiatives; Manages ceremonies for syncs, critiques, and knowledge sharing between our group, making sure all voices are heard and that the outcomes of these meetings are clear for all. Occasionally drives initiatives and explorations. Manages day-to-day tasks independently (e.g. delivering quarterly goals, providing performance feedback, hiring, scaling teams, managing under-performers).

People Management
Recruiting and Staffing: Map design headcount needs in your pillar and take action to request, recruit, and onboard new joiners balancing skills, diversity and inclusion.Growing your team:Support, empowers, and unlock ICs' potential at all stages of their career development and progression.

Execution and Impact
Cross-functional partnerships: Form effective partnership with cross functional peers across your pillar/tribe, driving alignment on strategy and operations, and holding each other accountable.Process and principles: Help designers remove obstacles and ensure that they are working with themes and projects that motivate them, while aligned with business interests.Guiding executional work: Break down vision and strategy into manageable workloads: share and encourage adoption of best practices for productivity, collaboration, design work handling, documentation and other best practices that allow great work to happen.Impact focused: Inspire action and guide the team towards solutions that drive value for the business, making smart decisions about outcomes/effort tradeoffs.

Strategy and Vision
Understanding of business: Deeply understand our company and product vision and strategies, accurately emphasising them within the chapter.Understanding of customers: Show deep understanding of the needs of the customers in your product area, working closely with Research team to get familiar with our internal reports.
