We're looking for a Product Design Manager with exceptional people management skills to lead and grow a team of Product Designers alongside cross-functional teams to deliver product designs that meet the needs of our customers. You will manage the end-to-end design process. Shaping product strategy will be imperative as you will lead the design direction and strive to improve overall design quality.

Our Product Design team is on a mission to help transform how we build products at OLX for our customers. We're looking for an experienced and empathetic Design Leader to join our team in driving and managing projects within our OLX Horizontal team. We're a team of 5,000 curious people at OLX, building marketplace platforms that make it super easy for anyone to buy and sell almost anything, boosting our circular economy. A key focus area will also be to align business, product, design, and technology so that teams can grow their capabilities and practices. This work will include working with the Pay & Ship teams and you will report to Product Design Director. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital part of OLX's success and growth!

The role can be based anywhere in Poland (Remote).
Please note that OLX will not support your relocation to Poland.

What you will be doing

    • Manage a team of product designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
    • Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize design needs.
    • Lead the end-to-end design process, including research, ideation, prototyping, and user testing.
    • Develop design strategies that align with business objectives and meet the needs of our customers.
    • Create and maintain design systems that promote consistency and efficiency across all products.
    • Manage and prioritize design projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs.
    • Foster a culture of design excellence, continuously improving design processes and methodologies.
    • Stay up-to-date with design trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into our design processes as appropriate.
    • Lead design ceremonies such as syncs, critiques, jams and reviews naturally to produce high-quality outcomes.
    • Hire a strong, diverse team of designers that raise the bar.

What are we looking for?

    • Industry experience with a proven track record in a people management role, building out and managing a design team
    • 5+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a management role.
    • A portfolio of work that contains examples of leading and managing a high-peforming team of designers
    • The ability to leverage and communicate with data to drive change and adapt
    • Demonstrated experience leading the end-to-end design process, from research to prototyping to user testing.
    • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with product management, engineering, and other teams.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating your design skills, process, and outcomes.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
