We’re looking for an experienced Privacy Counsel with a thorough knowledge of European Data protection laws to navigate the playing field between various OLX jurisdictions. You will provide privacy advice to the Corporate and OLX business units and help designing, implementing and maintaining a robust Privacy Program across the group.
In a typical day at OLX, in the role of Privacy Counsel, you will:
- Lead within a global network of privacy and legal counsels, reporting to the global DPO, focusing on the European OLX Privacy Programme and global data infrastructure governance.
- Advise the business on privacy matters, ensuring compliance with laws and policies related to personal information.
- Maintain relationships with business stakeholders to identify infrastructure requirements and controls.
- Ensure corporate privacy legal compliance, including contracting, policy drafting, data mapping, impact assessments, international data transfers, training, and privacy by design for new products and services.
- Interface with data protection authorities, including Poland's Data Protection Authority.
- Advise on incident management, including issue resolution and reporting on data privacy implications of security or IT incidents, in partnership with the group risk management function.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- University law degree or equivalent qualification and in house experience within a similar role for at least 3-5 years in a multinational corporation (technology industry in emerging/growth markets exposure strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of European privacy laws and regulations, CIPP certification (CIPP/E and/or CIPT preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Polish.
