We’re looking for an experienced and empathetic Product Designer to join our Product Design team. You will own the design part of our Design System called “Nexus”, working closely with strategic partners in technology and product teams to bring our key initiatives to life.
The role
We’re looking for an experienced designer to join our Design System team at OLX Group. You will help design, scale, and maintain Nexus, our design system that brings all of our products at OLX Group together under a common design language. You will be collaborating with designers, content strategists, engineers, product people, and design ops, and as a member of the team, you will co-own and co-shape the product roadmap of our Design System. With your Engineering and Product partners, you will be responsible for continuously improving your team’s way of working. If you have excellent communication skills, a robust craft in user-interface design, a passion for design systems, and are seeking ways to work on cross-organization solutions. What you will be doing?
- Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Product, Content Strategy, and Design Ops to drive cross-functional alignment, define strategy, and further develop our Design System.
- Shape, develop, and maintain the Design System to serve needs across multiple channels (Web, mWeb, mobile) and products (brands such as OLX, Otomoto, Otodom, Standvirtual, and more).Co-create tools and libraries that will help different functions to adopt and use the Design System in their daily work.
- Create detailed documentation for the Design System to outline guidelines and standards.
- Establish a process, gather requirements, manage components, and provide guidance for product designers in distributed teams across Europe.
- Support users of the Design System through multiple forms of communication and guidance.
- Advocate the design system within our company by communicating strategy, plans, and updates across the organization.
- Help drive adoption of the Design System.
What skills and experience do you need
- A proven understanding of the technical aspects of the development process and experience with successfully architecting, designing, and building scalable Design Systems that remain relevant over time within a large product organization.
- Deep understanding of visual design and proven practice in creating innovative and impactful interfaces that elevate design craft while influencing the design system's continuous expansion and improvement.
- Comprehensive understanding and practice of applied user-centered design methodologies, process stages (problem framing to hypothesis definition, ideation, testing solutions, design handover to implementation), and user research to tackle complex customer problems.A goal-driven mindset with a proven track record of design work oriented by crucial business metrics and strategic product objectives.
- You are a strong communicator with a proven track of close collaboration with different stakeholders and peers on directions and solutions. Experience managing expectations and resolving complex cases is a great addition.
- Ability to design low and high-fidelity mockups for multiple devices using Figma and design systems. Strong skills in user-interface design and attention to detail are a must.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, both verbal and written, that allow you to explain the rationale behind your ideas and solutions with clarity and assertiveness. Fluent English is a must.
- You are a self-starter and don’t wait for tasks to be handed to you. You’re eager to grow and help people around you grow together. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a diligent, autonomous, can-do attitude.
