As market makers and a prime destination where housing demand and supply meet, we have unparalleled access to data and unique, real-time insights about the state of the real estate markets where we operate.Through Data Journalism we are looking to use our own channels as well as external media to share some of these insights with the broader public and help homeseekers, private sellers, landlords as well as realtors and property developers better navigate a traditionally intransparent market.
We strongly believe that our vision is as relevant as ever in the current environment, in which high volatility and uncertainty add to the existing friction between market participants and further drive the need for accurate and up to date market insights.Throughout 2023, Otodom's data was featured in nearly 1700 articles across key media outlets in the real estate sector. Otodom also released a series of comprehensive real estate market analyses, including the Residential Quarterly, Rental Market Report as well as survey-based Happy Home, which takes a holistic view of housing in Poland. We continuously seek new opportunities for development in this field and welcome innovative ideas for expansion.
Your opportunity
- You will become part of our central analytics team within the European Real Estate unit which operates some of the leading real estate classifieds portals in Poland, Romania, Portugal and Ukraine. Collaborating closely with the Marketing and PR teams, you'll engage into a wide array of market insights topics. This position offers you a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening Data Journalism at Otodom, allowing you to significantly enhance the brand's reputation as the most trusted source of real estate market insights. The role is a unique blend of technical and interpersonal skills, offering you a chance to engage in deep market analysis while also serving as a key media liaison. Some of the types of activities you will be working on include:
- Analyzing our vast Otodom dataset of sell and rent offers as well as user behavior to derive relevant insightsResearching and incorporating external data sources on macroeconomic indicators and real estate market trends in your analyses to form a holistic picture of the market situation and dynamicsSharing market insights internally and externally through data story-telling using visualizations that are understandable, but at the same time effective and eye-catchingGrowing to a real estate market expert role and acting as a point of contact for local media and journalists for topics related to the real estate marketCross-functional cooperation, mainly with the Marketing and PR departments in the field of data journalism and Data and Tech teams in the technical and analytical scopeSupporting the EU Real Estate Leadership team with market/ macro analyses and recommendations
Your profile
- 3 years of experience in data analytics (data journalism experience is welcome)
- Solid knowledge and proven experience working with SQL and various other databases
- Experience in working with Python or R
- Solid knowledge of working with data visualization tools (Tableau is welcome)
- The ability to draw conclusions from the conducted analyses and research
- Proven experience of end-to-end project delivery, from data collection and cleaning to analyzing it, generating insights and submitting recommendations
- High degree of independence, as well as proactivity, taking responsibility for your area and acting as an owner
- Open to new opportunities, welcoming change and operating with a growth mindset
- Willingness to further develop data analysis skills as well as presentation and communication
- Very good communicator with solid spoken and written English (B2 / C1)
