The role
Numan is seeking a Corporate Counsel with a strong commercial background to join our Legal team.
You’ll work closely with all areas of the business and will need to take a consultative as well as collaborative approach to solving complex legal and business issues in a fast-moving environment. You’ll be collaborating with all core functions across Numan, so looking for someone who is comfortable handling multiple areas of responsibilities and able to demonstrate excellent critical judgement with hands-on approach.
You’ll be:
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a broad range of commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, consultancy agreements, master service agreements and technology agreements.
- Assisting with any corporate M&A transactions, as needed.
- Advising on a range of day-to-day legal and business matters as required. and other commercial matters as required.
- Contributing to best practices regarding standard contract management, tools and precedents.
- Acting as project manager in coordinating outside counsel and consultants on various projects.
- Assisting with the preparation of insurance applications for annual renewals and the group’s insurance program.
- Assisting with company secretarial matters including board consents and resolutions.
- Providing in-house training on legal risks and any significant changes in laws.
- Developing and maintaining standard terms and conditions for the business.
- Assisting with general risk management and corporate governance.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Qualified as a lawyer in England and Wales.
- Approximately 3 to 5 years Post Qualification Experience (preferably in-house or in a full-service law firm).
- Excellence in drafting and reviewing contractual documents.
- The ability to influence and deal with potentially difficult situations with both a consultative as well as collaborative approach, in order to achieve results and outcomes needed.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport and establish trust at all levels.
- Ability to work productively and collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment and achieve results within agreed deadlines.
