The role
As Behavioural Medicine Manager (Obesity), you will be embedded within the Behavioural Medicine team, working closely with product teams delivering Numan’s Obesity service across web and app platforms. You will play a vital role in designing, testing, and implementing behavioural science methodologies to drive engagement and long-term health behaviour change. While your primary focus will be developing behavioural programmes for Numan’s Obesity service, there may be opportunities to contribute across other health domains such as women’s health, men’s health, preventive services, and diagnostics.

You'll Be:

    • Partnering with product teams to design, test, and implement behavioural programme features, journeys, and experiences aligned with our programme blueprint.
    • Building methods to co-design programmes with patients, alongside design colleagues and our user-research team, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research.
    • Establishing an internal Behavioural Science Guild, empowering cross-functional teams to integrate behavioural science methodologies into interventions that drive real-world behaviour change.
    • Enhancing internal capabilities and processes to embed behavioural design, positioning Numan as a world leader in this space.

    • Brand and content teams to ensure behavioural programme principles are applied consistently across all messaging and communication.
    • Brand and content teams in leveraging expertise in behavioural obesity care, contributing to content, speaking at conferences, and engaging in external communications.
    • The ongoing evolution of Numan’s Weight Management Programme, designing bespoke, evidence-based curriculum and patient journeys that integrate diet, activity, stress management, and psychology, delivered through product, AI, and human coaching.
    • The development of Numan’s broader behaviour change strategy and innovation initiatives across all health domains.
    • A pipeline of behavioural science and obesity-focused research, supporting scientific publications and conference presentations to showcase Numan’s credibility and programme effectiveness.
    • The Head of Health Coaching to support integration of human coaching models across respective product teams.

We’re looking for someone who has:

    • Extensive experience in therapeutic lifestyle change programme design, testing, and implementation, with a specific focus on behaviour change for obesity care (Obesity care SME).
    • Training and hands-on experience in behavioural design methodologies.
    • Experience working in hybrid care or digital health environments.
    • Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to create engaging, patient-facing content.
    • A background in lifestyle medicine disciplines such as nutrition, dietetics, or psychology.
    • Ability to plan and execute qualitative and quantitative user research using validated tools (data analytics support available).

It’s a bonus if you have:

    • A clinical psychology background, with expertise in a range of behavioural techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Please note, this role is a 12-month freelance FTC.
