The role

We are looking for a Head of Performance Marketing to join our Growth & Marketing team and help us take our business to the next level. Reporting into the VP of Growth, we need someone who is both highly inquisitive and creative with their ideas on how to reach new customers. You will play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and optimising our paid advertising campaigns, whilst shaping and mentoring your team.

You’ll be:

    • Developing new and innovative performance marketing strategies that drive growth and expansion, including exploring opportunities to expand our marketing channel mix.
    • Managing planning, executing, reporting and optimising processes across Numan’s marketing channels including Search, Social and Video specifically focussed towards acquisition.
    • Work with the wider Commercial, Growth, Finance and Brand teams to ensure marketing spend is being deployed as efficiently as possible.
    • Monitoring performance against defined targets, ensuring performance remains consistent across multiple channels.
    • Leading the planning process for performance marketing and develop a winning strategy to take Numan’s performance activity to the next level.
    • Working with the existing team and cross-functionally when required to elevate execution of campaigns in existing channels.
    • Leading on Go-To-Market strategy for new products and markets where performance marketing will be the key acquisition lever.
    • Training and developing our existing team, pushing them to improve the execution and performance of their campaigns through day to day operation and implementation of larger projects.
    • Maintaining and building upon the test and learning culture present in the team with a rigorous approach to A/B testing applying rigour around concepts like statistical significance in testing.
    • Working with our established Brand and Marketing team to produce effective creative to drive business results across channels and product categories.
    • Sharing knowledge across the business, ensuring Performance Marketing projects, plans and test results are well understood and used to inform future judgements and plans.
    • Identifying opportunities and implement new processes to ensure the team operates efficiently.
    • Completing ad hoc analysis in excel/google sheets to inform future strategies, investigating competitor activity and collaborating with BI and data teams when required.

We’re looking for someone who has:

    • Demonstrable experience in performance marketing, including experience creating, optimising and improving best in class Paid Social, Search and Video driven campaigns.
    • Worked inside a DTC business and has a strong understanding of underpinning concepts like LTV, Churn, Payback Periods etc.
    • The ability to drill into data at a line by line level, ideally in a data warehouse environment like BigQuery or using Looker ideally with the ability to write SQL or Python.
    • Experience acting as a mentor for your team and advocate for our brand values.
    • The understanding of both technical and analytical elements of all relevant digital platforms in hyper-detail, including tracking, attribution and experimentation features.
    • Run an effective creative production process with demonstrable experience of delivering a winning strategy in Paid Social/Video driven creative.
    • A desire to continue to be hands on in accounts, but also the ability to take a wider strategic view in equal measure
    • Experience delivering lasting solutions balancing risk mitigation, flexibility and business continuity through business cases and proposals supported by data and evidence.
    • Worked in a startup, scale up or brand side before, and is able to work hands on in a flexible and agile manner.
    • An enjoyment of working independently and the ability to get stuff done without close supervision - you take ownership of the vision and can figure out how to execute against it.
    • A curiosity about new trends, advertising products and growth opportunities with a can-do attitude and full of great ideas.

It’s a bonus if you have:

    • Experience operating in a regulated business.
    • A high level of analytical capabilities, as at home completing complex analytics as you are in Google Ads.
