The role
As our Director of Operations, you’ll lead the transformation of our UK operations - building for high performance, scalability, and a world-class customer experience.
You’ll take ownership of the overarching operational strategy, driving the evolution of order fulfilment and logistics to support scalable growth. By shaping high-impact initiatives and championing continuous improvement, you’ll ensure the operation remains agile, efficient, and aligned with long-term business goals in a dynamic, high-volume, 7-day environment.
You’ll be part of an exciting, VC-backed scale-up at the cutting edge of HealthTech. You'll lead our operational strategy and collaborate across teams to deliver unmatched value to our customers, suppliers, and stakeholders. You’ll drive efficiency while fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
You’ll be:
- Setting the vision for operations, ensuring alignment with our high-growth goals and future scaling plans.
- Optimising budgets and resources to drive cost efficiencies while ensuring smooth, scalable operations.
- Leveraging data to continuously improve operational performance, refine processes, and introduce innovative solutions.
- Collaborating closely with Finance, Commercial, Product, and Engineering teams to create a fully integrated, tech-powered customer experience.
- Obsessing over customer experience, ensuring best-in-class SLAs, ultra-accurate fulfilment, and minimal error rates.
- Developing and enforcing robust SOPs and compliance measures to stay ahead of regulations and ensure operational consistency.
- Coaching and mentoring a high-performance operations team, fostering an inclusive, accountable culture built on continuous improvement.
- Taking full ownership of health, safety, and environmental compliance, driving a proactive safety-first culture across our sites.
- Implementing cutting-edge security measures to protect inventory, data, and assets in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Driving innovation in equipment maintenance and exploring emerging technologies to future-proof our operations.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience in leading complex, multi-site operations, ideally in high-growth, regulated, or tech-focused environments.
- A strategic mindset, capable of aligning operations with broader business goals and using data to make informed decisions that drive performance.
- Strong leadership skills - you’ve built and led high-performing teams, excelled in employee relations, and managed change effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Deep expertise in health, safety, and environmental management, especially in regulated or industrial settings.
- A willingness to travel to various UK sites.
- Advanced proficiency in operational management tools and data analytics to optimise performance and drive innovation.
- Has a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Management, Operations, or a related field.
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience working within a regulated framework such as MHRA, GPhC, or similar. Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement certifications or practical experience.
- Worked within HealthTech, pharmacy, or clinical operations, particularly with regulatory frameworks like MHRA, GPhC, or CQC.
