Commercial Director - Obesity
The Commercial Director, Obesity owns the business in its entirety: the proposition, the P&L and the commercial outcomes. If obesity grows profitably, it's because this person made the right calls. If it doesn't, they'll already know why.
Most of the levers sit in other teams. Marketing, CRM, product, pricing and clinical ops all shape the obesity P&L, so the Commercial Director has to direct resource they don't own. That resource is won with a clear commercial case and the numbers to back it.
The person who excels here thinks like a founder. They know CAC, CM2, cohort retention and approval rate without being asked, and they read the weekly numbers hunting for the problem before anyone flags it. They care about patients, who come to Numan at a personal moment and need to trust us before they'll stay.
You will:
-
Own patient growth, revenue and CM2 for obesity. Set the plan, make the trade-offs and be accountable for the outcome.
-
Decide what we sell, at what price and on what commitment. Better unit economics and a wider funnel often pull in opposite directions; this role finds the balance and makes the call.
-
Lead the obesity commercial team and run the weekly obesity forum. Point marketing, CRM, product and clinical ops at the highest priorities.
-
Own the commercial relationships with Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly at UK leadership level, from launch planning to data sharing agreements.
-
Every commercial decision lands inside clinical guardrails. Build a relationship with the clinical team where each side trusts the other's judgement, because patients need both.
-
Bring hands-on experience of AI in a commercial setting: analysis, forecasting, CRM,
You'll have:
-
P&L ownership in a D2C subscription, marketplace or consumer health business, ideally one fighting well funded competitors for the same customer.
-
Fluent in unit economics, and comfortable going from a cohort table to a pricing decision in the same meeting.
-
A track record of driving growth through teams they don't manage directly.
-
Strong product instincts, held loosely. They'll drop an idea they love when the numbers say so.
-
Real examples of deploying AI and changing how a team works as a result.
-
Experience in a regulated market (healthcare, financial services, insurance) is a plus.
