Algorithm Validation Team Lead
You will be a Team Lead in Mobileye's HLB algorithmic group, leading the functional and performance analysis of the technology.
The HLB group is responsible for various lighting applications, the most important being control of the host vehicle's high beams to maximize view range while avoiding glare of other road users. To achive this, the technology is required to detect vehicles at very large distances and poor lighting conditions, and correctly predict their motion and distance. The technology is also responsible for determining lighting conditions, spots-based object detection and Heads Up Display control.
The technology is highly dependent on advanced ML and vision algorithms, along with geometric understanding and physical understanding of the camera's behavior and properties. The validation processes require an understanding of these domains, along with deep analytical thinking and strong technical and data analysis capabilities.
In addition, a good working experience with GenAI is a big bonus, since various aspects of the work require defining processes that can be automated using agents, and insights may require coding, which could be sped-up considerably using GenAI.
What will your job look like:
- Lead and develop a team focused on algorithm validation, data analysis and ground truth generation, and automation processes.
- Perform deep analysis of complex system behavior in order to identify issues, investigate root causes, and propose solutions.
- Define validation strategies, test suites, and KPIs that will ensure robust evaluation of algorithm performance.
- Identify gaps in existing validation processes and drive the definition of new tests and methodologies.
- Define requirements and priorities for tools and automation that support large-scale data analysis and validation workflows.
- Work closely with Algorithm, Product, Data/Labeling, and other FPA teams to improve validation methodologies and system understanding.
- Promote analytical thinking and structured investigation processes within the team.
All you need is:
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, software development, or algorithm-related roles, with a strong focus on analytical thinking and problem solving.
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong technical ability to investigate complex systems and analyze “black box” behavior.
- Previous experience in team leadership or leading technical teams - an advantage
- Experience working with machine learning / AI / computer vision systems - an advantage.
- Experience defining validation processes, test methodologies, or performance evaluation frameworks - an advantage.
