At Mentee Robotics, we are redefining humanoid automation with an AI-first approach - combining perception, reasoning, and dexterous manipulation into fully autonomous systems that continuously learn and improve. We offer an exceptional opportunity to participate in building next-generation commercial humanoid robots from 0 to 1, alongside competitive compensation and an international engineering environment. We are expanding with a new robotics Engineering Center in China, working hand-in-hand with our engineering teams in headquarters. Its mission: to rapidly develop our next-generation full-size humanoid platform and bring it to production.

We are looking for a Jetson Software Engineer to own application-level software pipelines, GPU-accelerated middleware, sensor integration, high-throughput IPC, and edge AI deployment on NVIDIA AGX Jetson compute nodes powering our humanoid robot.

Who you are:

  • Software engineer who thrives in modern C++, Python, GPU computing, parallel pipelines, and high-performance middleware on Linux/Jetson platforms.
  • Hands-on practitioner who systematically diagnoses kernel panics, memory bottlenecks, latency spikes, and high-speed bus bottlenecks.
  • Obsessed with zero-copy data pipelines, deterministic control timing, system stability, and optimized memory footprints.
  • A strong collaborator across AI algorithm, perception, control, and hardware infrastructure teams.

What will your job look like:

  • Architect and develop high-performance software applications and middleware running on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin/Thor platforms for humanoid robotics.
  • Design low-latency, deterministic multi-threaded software pipelines to achieve sub-millisecond control loop performance on the Jetson platform.
  • Architect high-throughput, zero-copy video/sensor ingestion and pre-processing pipelines utilizing CUDA, TensorRT, VPI, and NvMedia frameworks.
  • Integrate high-speed bus communication interfaces (PCIe, 10GbE, SocketCAN/CAN-FD, USB 3.2, SPI) for real-time sensor and actuator telemetry.
  • Design system-level health monitoring, watchdog daemons, dynamic thermal/power throttling control, and automated system crash recovery.
  • Establish automated CI/CD build environments, containerized deployment (Docker), and secure Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware update systems for Jetson compute nodes.
  • Collaborate with AI teams to optimize memory transfer latencies (Zero-Copy, Unified Memory) between host CPU and CUDA GPU cores.
  • Conduct deep system profiling, memory leak tracking, and thread contention analysis using NISO/Nsight, perf, and trace-cmd tools.

All you need is:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • 5+ years of software development experience on ARM/Linux edge platforms, specifically NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier / Orin modules.
  • Proficient in Modern C++ (17/20) and Python with strong system and application programming skills in Linux environments.
  • Solid experience with JetPack SDK, CUDA, TensorRT, VPI, and Linux user-space application development tools.
  • Hands-on experience with PREEMPT_RT real-time Linux, POSIX multi-threading, shared memory IPC, and low-latency socket programming.
  • Deep knowledge of hardware interfaces including PCIe, Ethernet, CAN-FD, MIPI-CSI2, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Familiarity with Docker containerization, system service management, and Linux security models.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with logic analyzers, protocol sniffers, and embedded profiling tools.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with ROS 2 / DDS middleware optimization on Jetson edge platforms.
  • Prior experience in autonomous driving, humanoid robotics, quadrupeds, or high-performance edge AI compute nodes.
  • Knowledge of secure boot, hardware-accelerated encryption, and OTA update platforms (RAUC, Mender).
  • Comfortable communicating technical topics in English with international teams.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
