As an Automotive Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of operations within the automotive industry, with a focus on BOM creation, orders and purchasing management, vendor communication, BI dashboard definition, and technical documentation. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations, effective communication with vendors, efficient procurement processes, and accurate documentation of technical aspects.

What will your job look like:

    • BOM Creation: Utilize your expertise to create and maintain detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs) for automotive components and assemblies, ensuring accuracy and alignment with engineering designs and specifications. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to incorporate necessary changes and updates into BOMs, while adhering to quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
    • Orders and Purchasing Management: Oversee the procurement process, including order placement, vendor selection, negotiation of terms, and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of materials and components. Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and mitigate supply chain risks.
    • Vendor Maintenance and Communication: Establish and maintain relationships with automotive industry vendors, ensuring clear communication, timely resolution of issues, and alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Evaluate vendor performance based on criteria such as quality, delivery reliability, and cost-effectiveness, and implement improvement initiatives as necessary.
    • BI Dashboard Definition: Collaborate with IT and business intelligence teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics relevant to automotive operations. Design and develop Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency, procurement performance, inventory levels, and vendor management.
    • Documentation of Technical Aspects: Ensure comprehensive documentation of technical aspects related to BOMs, procurement processes, vendor communications, and operational procedures. Maintain accurate records of specifications, technical drawings, supplier contracts, and other relevant documentation to facilitate compliance, audits, and knowledge transfer.

All you need is:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
    • Proven experience in operations management within the automotive industry, with a focus on BOM creation, procurement, and vendor management.
    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in BI dashboard design and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and experience in defining KPIs and metrics.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and documentation.
    • Familiarity with automotive industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
    • Strong leadership abilities, with experience in managing teams and driving process improvements.
