We are currently recruiting a Senior Development and Mechanical Engineer who will be integral to driving high-level performance across Lovehoney Group. Your focus will be on conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping innovative consumer electronics. You will oversee the transition of prototypes to commercial products, coordinating projects with stakeholders including manufacturers and supplier, designing test rigs, and improving designs based on laboratory measurements, user testing, and structural-mechanical simulations.
What you will do
- Concept, design, and build prototypes of new components or product concepts in the field of innovative consumer electronics.
- Graduate prototypes to commercial products through the design of parts and assemblies for release into mass production.
- Co-ordinate projects and working packages with our manufacturers in China, our sourcing, quality, and compliance as well as testing and product portfolio management team, external contractors, research institutes and universities.
- Improve design based on prototype laboratory measurements and user testing results focusing on system efficiency, volumetric and gravimetric power densities, operation range extension, lifetime increase, and noise reduction.
- Generate FEM-models to perform structural-mechanical simulations (modal analysis)
What you should bring
- Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related majors Masters or PhD advantage, with 7+ years proven experience developing innovative, creative, mechanical and electronic consumer product designs.
- Practical experience in generative prototyping
- Expert knowledge of SolidWorks with extensive surfacing experience designing organic geometries.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability principles.
- Excellent oral and written English communications skills. German or Chinese language – advantage.
