Job Overview

We are seeking native Norwegian speakers to participate in a Conversational Voice Recording project. This project involves recording natural, scripted conversations in both Norwegian and English to support language technology development.

Participants will collaborate remotely with another Norwegian speaker, recording conversational scripts using provided tools and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in a scheduled online conversation with another Norwegian speaker
• Record your portion of the dialogue using Audacity
• Follow provided scripts, naturally switching between Norwegian and English where required
• Deliver high-quality audio recordings according to project guidelines

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Norwegian
• Strong working knowledge of English, with the ability to switch between languages naturally
• Access to a laptop or smartphone for recording
• Ability to install and use:
  • Audacity (free audio recording software)
  • An online meeting platform (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet)
• Access to a quiet recording environment

Project Details

• Total session: up to 1 hour of conversation
• Individual speaking time: approximately 30 minutes
• Estimated total time commitment: ~3 hours, including:
  • Setup and tool installation
  • Script review and preparation
  • Recording session

Compensation

• USD $100 per successfully completed and validated recording session
• Payment processed via Aurora Studio
