About the role

We’re looking for a quantitatively minded data analyst who is great with numbers and loves statistical problem-solving to come and have a big impact on our business. We want someone who has coding experience and uses it (Python and SQL) daily to generate insights from data and use that insight to drive meaningful change in our UK Loans business. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be at the forefront of shaping the lending industry. A successful candidate for this role would be instrumental in driving the commercial, credit, and product objectives of our UK Loan offering. You’ll be working for an ambitious company, in a fast-paced environment, with minimal bureaucracy.

Your team's objectives

    • The Loans commercial team is helping to build and grow the UK Loan portfolio, with ambitious targets. Alongside the credit & product teams, we are looking to optimise who we offer credit to, how much we should lend to them, what interest rate we should charge, and how the wider economic environment impacts those decisions.
    • Our team is responsible for analysing our existing lending products, identifying areas for improvement, and devising plans for future products. 
    • With your inquisitive nature and problem-solving mindset, you will help our team stay on top of industry trends, ensuring that we are always one step ahead of the competition

How you'll impact those objectives

    • Using your analytical and problem-solving skills to generate key insights from data, and use that insight to drive meaningful change in our strategy
    • Owning and improving our lending engine analytics.
    • Using data and analytics to drive decisions about who we should lend to and where the best opportunities to grow our business lie.  
    • Collaborate with a wider cross-functional team to implement your strategies in the market
    • Presenting your findings to senior leaders in the company, then work with the product/tech team to get them implemented

Your profile

    • 1-2 years of professional experience
    • Coding experience, with proficiency in Python and SQL
    • Someone who loves numbers! You’ll be working with numbers every single day in this role so you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to work with complex data sets, analyse them and draw insights
    • Understanding what truly matters and driving business outcomes
    • A natural inclination to challenge the status quo and question your assumptions
