The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT operations, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and robust security. This role involves collaboration with various IT teams, developers, and business stakeholders to support daily operations and the organization’s strategic goals. The IT Systems Engineer will also play a critical role in supporting the Information Security team in implementing and managing security systems, helping the organization meet gaming regulation obligations, ISO 27001 standards, and other relevant compliance requirements
Main Responsibilities
- System Administration & Maintenance: Manage and maintain all on-premises and cloud-based IT systems, ensuring reliable operation and system uptime. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to optimize IT operations.
- Security Support & Compliance: Collaborate with the Information Security team to set up and manage security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection. Assist in the implementation of IT security solutions that align with organizational policies, gaming regulations, and industry best practices. Participate in regular security audits and risk assessments, providing technical support and expertise to ensure compliance with ISO 27001 standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory & Standards Compliance: Support the organization in meeting gaming regulation obligations and maintaining compliance with ISO 27001 and other relevant standards. Work closely with IT and compliance teams to ensure that all IT systems and operations adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Help the Data team develop and maintain comprehensive backup strategies and disaster recovery plans. Regularly test and validate backup and recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
- Support & Troubleshooting: Provide second and third-level support for IT incidents and service requests. Work closely with the helpdesk team to resolve complex issues and deliver expert guidance on IT operations.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and security protocols. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including gaming regulations and ISO 2700, GDPR and LGPD.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in IT and security technologies. Recommend and implement improvements to IT operations and security practices to enhance efficiency and protect against emerging threats.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or a related IT role.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and corporate network operations.
- Experience with IT security systems and supporting Information Security teams in meeting compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and routing.
- Familiarity with security systems such as SASE, SIEM
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana) and backup solutions (e.g., Acronis).
