About our Search Backend Team
At Kiwi.com, our Search Backend team is the driving force in connecting travellers with their perfect flights. We combine advanced algorithms and extensive travel data to deliver seamless search results and innovative features, including our signature Virtual Interlining product and other travel hacks. We believe in a collaborative approach when contributing to company-wide initiatives, strong ownership, and a shared passion for building high-performance systems that can handle massive scale.
What you will do
- You will design, develop, integrate and deploy high-quality software aligned with user needs and business goals, finding a balance between efficient delivery and technical excellence.
- You will participate in architectural discussions, design solid technical solutions and lead implementations.
- You will contribute to code reviews, practise clean coding standards, and implement effective testing strategies.
- You will address technical debt, help prevent errors and outages, and promote a culture of risk awareness.
- You will take part in managing simple data processing pipelines and resulting data models.
- Using your technical knowledge you will support and educate other engineers, while fostering an environment of growth and team spirit.
What you will need
- You are fluent in Python and comfortable working with various libraries, programming concepts and versions.
- You are familiar with or interested in data processing pipelines and able to write SQL-based queries.
- You are familiar with some of our technologies: GCP, Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, Airflow, BigQuery, Redis, PostgreSQL.
- You have a good understanding of microservices, containerization, CI/CD, networking and distributed systems, and you apply this knowledge consistently in your work.
- You are fluent in English (both spoken and written) and bring strong communication and collaboration skills.
- You are comfortable with overseeing smaller technical projects and supporting teams towards successful outcomes.
- You possess solid experience in creating software capable of managing significant load and fulfilling complex requirements.
