At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Scarsdale Vets, part of the inspiring Vet Care network, is recruiting!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Vet to join our First Opinion team. You’ll be responsible for managing existing First Opinion hospital patients plus First Opinion out of hours emergency cases. Candidates should have a good level of experience in ECC and knowledge of referral work (for example a rotating internship) would be advantageous. Our night work doesn’t include any of the regular appointments or animal MOTs. It’s very dependent on what arrives at the Practice on any given evening, or what cases there are already within our wards, so this role would suit someone who likes a varied and reactive environment.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Night Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

The role

You’ll work a 7 on – 14 off pattern. Working days will be 12 hours long with an hour for lunch. You’ll be working alongside our dedicated night team of nurses to deliver the absolute highest standards of care to our inpatients.

Here's what the team have to say

"The ECC caseload is diverse, ensuring that each shift remains engaging while offering excellent opportunities to further develop clinical skills in both emergency medicine and critical care. In addition, there is strong nursing support overnight, with four RVNs and two kennel assistants on duty. The rota is thoughtfully designed to promote a healthy work–life balance."
