This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal care and is looking to develop their skills and knowledge while working within an approved veterinary practice. You will gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses and the wider practice team.

 

How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will be supported and encouraged to develop both your clinical and non-clinical skills while working towards qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

 

You’ll be an integral part of the practice team, supporting patient care under the guidance of Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of nursing duties while progressing through your training programme and developing confidence in your day-to-day practice.

 

Working Pattern

 
* Role is based on working 5 days a week on a rota basis
 

Key Responsibilities

 
* Providing high standards of patient care and welfare
* Assisting veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses
* Preparing patients for procedures and supporting their recovery
* Monitoring anaesthetised patients under supervision
* Supporting inpatient care and routine nursing duties
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
* Communicating professionally with clients and the wider practice team
* Developing your practical skills and clinical knowledge as you progress through your veterinary nursing training
