At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at  Coombefield, Three Counties Veterinary Emergencies on a part time basis.

The role will involve working in a variety of our departments; surgical prep area, kennel work, reception duties, pharmacy and our in-house lab. This role could also suit someone who has experience of working in a veterinary hospital and wanting to enrol or are completing the Level 2 VCA apprenticeship. Full training will be given, but ideally candidates should have previous hands-on experience in practice with knowledge to support this.

About us

Our team of 13 veterinary surgeons are assisted by our nursing team consisting of 16 RVNs, 3 night RVNs, 1 SVN and 2 VCAs. We pride ourselves in our culture of inclusivity and respect. Every member of our team is valued, working collaboratively to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients. As a senior leadership team, we have an open-door policy, our priority being the well-being of our team as well as our clinical duties. Lunch and rest breaks are prioritised and protected.

Our main site is an RCVS accredited, large, purpose-built hospital practice in Axminster, with a branch practice in Seaton.  We have a separately staffed, dedicated OOH night service called Three Counties Veterinary Emergencies, working out of our Axminster site with surrounding practices feeding into this service. We are the only RCVS accredited hospital with 24-hour care in the area, with excellent equipment and facilities enabling us to deliver a high standard of patient care.
