The Cat Clinic in Southsea is opening its doors to a passionate, cat-focused, consult only vet looking for the perfect Saturday role in a practice that truly puts feline care first.


This is a permanent, Saturday-only consulting position in a busy, well-established clinic located right on the high street. As a progressive GP practice, the caseload is largely routine consultations with a strong emphasis on dentistry, making it an ideal role for someone who enjoys building client relationships and delivering high standards of everyday care. The clinic is exceptionally well equipped, with IDEXX in-house blood machines, digital dental and standard X-ray, ultrasound, doppler, capnograph and K-laser, ensuring you have everything you need to practice confidently and efficiently. Proudly accredited as an RCVS Practice Standards Clinic and recognised as an ISFM feline-friendly clinic, this practice offers an environment where cats truly come first.
You’ll be joining a close-knit and supportive team made up of two vets, five RVNs and a dedicated client care team. The practice benefits from in-house ISFM certificate expertise while still maintaining the option to refer when needed, creating a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment.

How You’ll Make a Difference 

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. 


You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you. 


•    You’ll be supported every Saturday morning by an experienced RVN and a friendly receptionist, working from 8:00am to 12:00pm
•    There is flexibility to work every Saturday or on a 1:2 or 1:3 rota, and for those who would like a little more variety, there is also the opportunity to pick up weekday holiday cover if desired.
•    With no on-call or out-of-hours responsibilities and all emergencies referred to Vets Now from midday, this role offers an excellent work-life balance.

You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring: 


•    A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS 
•    Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical cases 
•    Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues 
•    A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development 
•    Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
