This part-time position offers 29.1 hours per week over three days (Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 8:30am–7pm) split between The Goffs and Hailsham. You’ll also join a favourable 1-in-8 Saturday morning rota at Hailsham, with no out-of-hours requirements.

About us

At Downland Veterinary Group, East Sussex, we take pride in our warm, supportive, and nurturing culture. Our team is hardworking, passionate, and dedicated to providing the very best care for our patients and clients. With a strong reputation among both our team and the local community, we’re committed to clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement in everything we do

Team and development

We believe in growth—both as individuals and as a team. Everyone at our practice follows their own CPD journey, contributing their unique strengths and expertise. To support this, we host regular in-house CPD sessions, clinical discussions, and team meetings across our three sites, creating a space to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

Community involvement

We're actively engaged in the local community – from school visits to educate children about veterinary care, to fundraising and supporting local rescue centres such as the Kit Wilson Trust. Our team also volunteers and contributes to charity initiatives throughout the year.

Our facilities

We are proud to be an RCVS-accredited Small Animal GP practice at The Goffs and Hailsham, and Core Standards at Stone Cross. We’re also a Training Practice for student nurses and support new graduate vets with a VetGDP Adviser. Currently, we're working towards ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status and planning further RCVS awards.

Our surgeries include:

The Goffs & Hailsham: Full dental suites (including dental x-ray), surgical theatres, in-house lab, multiparameter monitoring, and mobile ultrasound.
Stone Cross: Two consult rooms and a vibrant waiting area, feeding procedures to our other branches.
All three locations offer free parking and are surrounded by local amenities. Renovation plans are in place for The Goffs to further improve our facilities.

Our team

We’re a friendly, fun, and close-knit team that thrives on collaboration and mutual support. Our team currently includes:
• 6 Vets (including 2 certificate holders)
• 12 Nurses (2 student RVNs, 1 working towards a certificate)
• 10 Support Staff

We’re also supported by regular visiting specialists in orthopaedics, endoscopy, advanced ultrasound, and ophthalmology, helping us provide a broad range of expert care to our patients.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a friendly, forward-thinking team member with solid general clinical experience. A passion for clinical excellence, strong teamwork, and high standards of patient care are essential qualities we value.
