Sussex Equine Vets are seeking a full-time, enthusiastic, and hardworking Groom to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stable management and exceptional horse handling skills.
Key responsibilities include the care of inpatient horses, such as mucking out, feeding, grooming, and providing general support to our veterinary team, nurses, and Clinical Directors as needed. A high standard of cleanliness and infection control is crucial, and you will be expected to collaborate closely with both clinical and administrative staff.
We value a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a good sense of humour. This role is physically demanding and takes place in a rural environment, so a valid driving license is essential.

We are located in rural Sussex, with good train links to London, Brighton and Worthing. Here, there are lots of country walks and the seaside is only 20 miles away.
You will be working with a highly skilled team of Vets, Nurses and Grooms. We have fantastic lab and pharmacy provision, with great staff and a brilliant administrative team.
Our team is made up of 4 specialist Surgeons, 2 Internal Medicine specialists, 2 Repro specialists and 1 Sports Medicine specialist. We also have 3 Nurses,4 Student Nurses, 1 Nursing Assistant, 6 Grooms, 2 Pharmacy dispensers, 3 Scientific Officers, a Clinic Supervisor, 6 Interns, 1 Resident, 13 support staff, 2 Housekeepers and 12 Ambulatory Veterinarians.
We hold a Bi-Yearly Open Day, where we collect donations for a charity as voted by the staff. Moreover, we also sponsor local events and have regular staff socials that everyone can attend.
Your shift pattern
40 hours per week (including working weekends on a rota basis/business needs).
