We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Oakmount Veterinary Centre on a full-time basis.

 

Oakmount is a friendly, first opinion small animal practice that has been caring for the pets of Burnley and surrounding areas for over 25 years. Equipped with modern equipment we have 5 consulting rooms, 2 theatres (orthopaedics and soft tissue), digital x-ray with both vertical and horizontal beam, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house blood machines, as well as all the usual equipment.

You’ll be part of a welcoming and collaborative team that values professional development, patient welfare, and high clinical standards. We are a Veterinary Nurse training practice, and you will work collaboratively with our team of 6 vets, 11 nurses and support staff. Open 7 days a week, weekdays between the hours of 8.00am and 7pm and 8.30am - 4.30pm on weekends. We offer inpatient care overnight, which is nurse-led on a sleep rota basis.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. 

 

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. 

 

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week over 5 days with 1:6 weekends with days off in lieu the week before and the week after.

 

 

*Provide nursing care across a range of medical and surgical cases 

*Run your own nurse clinics

*Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to inpatients and surgical patients

*Contribute to patient care planning and the development of clinical standards 

 

 

 

 

We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring: 

 

* Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS 

* Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing 

* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues 

* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively 

* A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
