Robson Vets is located in Laurencekirk, with a branch in Montrose. It is set in beautiful countryside with admiring views over the foothills to the cairngorms. It is within easy reach of Dundee and Aberdeen, 30-40 minutes’ drive with accessible transport links via train 5 minutes from the surgery. Initially the role will be based in Laurencekirk then once confident Montrose as well, which is a consult only site.

The local gym is just down the road, again a few minutes’ walk away from the practice. We have accommodation on site and ample free parking. The local community has local shops, takeaways and cafes along with a doctor’s surgery, primary and secondary school and pharmacy. There are lovely walks a short stroll away. There are local house rentals available in Laurencekirk and the surrounding area.

We have a supportive team of 3 vets and 6 nurses (4.7FTE) who will all be there to support you every step of the way. We are a positive pawprint practice too. 

We have excellent practice facilities including a dental suite with dental x-ray, ultrasonography and digital x-ray with signal pet technology, flexible and rigid scopes, multiparameter anaesthetic machines, fluid infusion pumps, syringe drivers, patient warmers. We provide Laser and acupuncture therapy also on site. We have separate dog and cat wards, intensive care ward, isolation ward, dental suite and two theatres. We have three consulting rooms, overnight accommodation and a staff kitchen.

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, split over 4 days and 1:4 weekends (supervised) inclusive. A mixture of consultations, study time and operating will be rota’d as and when you are confident. In patient will be allocated and backed up after 6 months in position.

Our three amazing vets are all experienced in their fields with previous exposure to supporting graduates. You will be allowed to acclimatise and observe the other vets to begin with and be supported through consults by being appointed a mentor. For surgery, a skills matrix and training plan will be implemented then supervised operating will begin when you are confident in your ability.
