Swift Referrals and Emergencies have an exciting opportunity for another Hospital Clinician to join their team. This position is based at our multidisciplinary referral hospital in Wetherby and offers the opportunity to join our large team of talented veterinary professionals.

 

Reporting to the Lead Hospital Clinician, you will work alongside our specialist-led clinicians to help facilitate excellent client and patient care. This role provides an interesting and diverse mix of first-opinion emergency consultations, diagnostics and surgery, as well as assisting our referral clinicians with complex investigations and inpatient care.

 

We have state of the art technology including a purpose-built intensive care unit, which has all the emergency equipment you should need including point-of-care ultrasonography, oxygen kennels, ICU bays and cots for critical patients, multiparameter monitoring and its own radiography suite. Our extensive in-house laboratory facilities include tests such as coagulation profiles, blood gases, cortisol, CSF cytospin, as well as the usual blood and urinalysis equipment you would expect. Our diagnostic equipment includes a 1.5T siemens MRI scanner, 128 slice GE CT scanner, doppler ultrasound and endoscopy.

How You’ll Make a Difference 

 

Reporting to the Lead Hospital Clinician, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice including our referral clinicians, which are led by two European Specialists; hospital clinicians who support our referral departments and run our out-of-hours service; nursing and ACA teams who provide gold standard care to our patients; and our client care team, who provide our clients with the best service.

 

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

 

Our full-time hospital vets predominantly work a 40-hour week composed of mostly weekday shifts, but some night shifts and weekend shifts are required and shared amongst the team. As part of our commitment to support individual and flexible working patterns, where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss specific schedules.

*A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS

£50,000 - £55,000 a year
