Salary up to £70,000 DOE, welcome bonus up to £5,000 and relocation allowance up to £5,000
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
Mainstone Veterinary Practice, part of ivc, has been caring for pets in Romsey for many years, building a trusted reputation within the local community and creating a supportive team culture. We're looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly practice, where you'll enjoy clinical freedom, a varied caseload and the opportunity to make a real difference to both patients and clients every day.
A Varied First-Opinion Role
If you enjoy the diversity of first-opinion practice, you'll feel right at home at Mainstone. Your week will include an excellent balance of consultations and surgery, with the opportunity to manage cases from routine appointments through to orthopaedic procedures and occasional emergency presentations. There is an element of sole charge, making this an ideal role for a vet who enjoys working independently while knowing support is always available from an experienced and collaborative team.
Equipped for Exceptional Care
We've invested in our facilities to help you provide the highest standard of patient care. The practice features a dedicated dental suite with dental radiography, multiparameter monitoring in both theatre and dental, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, syringe drivers, infusion pumps, a floating X-ray table and a comprehensive in-house IDEXX laboratory. We're also proud to hold Silver Cat Friendly accreditation, with dedicated feline clinics designed to create a calm and stress-free experience for our cat patients.
A Team That Supports Your Growth
You'll be joining a welcoming team of experienced Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs who enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting one another. With certificate holders in Ophthalmology and Emergency & Critical Care already within the practice, you'll benefit from a collaborative environment where CPD and certificate study are actively encouraged, helping you develop your own clinical interests and progress your career.
Flexibility That Works for You
This full-time role is 40 hours per week, worked between 8:30am and 7:00pm, with just 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:30pm). There are no out-of-hours commitments, and part-time applications are welcomed.
