Discover your next great opportunity

Abbey Vet Clinic in Arbroath is looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident clinician who is ready to take the next step in their career, whether that’s developing clinical interests, mentoring less experienced colleagues, or taking on more responsibility within a well-established practice.

You’ll enjoy a varied and rewarding caseload with real clinical freedom, allowing you to work cases up to a high standard. From routine procedures through to more complex medical and surgical cases including pyometras, lump removals, GI foreign bodies and dentistry, no two days are the same. We also work closely with Cats Protection, running a dedicated cat clinic, adding further variety and interest to the role.

We are passionate about supporting individual development and are more than happy to invest in certificates, new services, or equipment to help you grow in your areas of interest.

Rota patterns that work for you

We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance so can offer flexible rota patterns and working hours to accommodate your personal needs and priorities. Whether you prefer fixed or flexible work patterns, we are committed to finding the right solution for you. The full time position is based on 40 hours per week across a 4 or 5 day week depending on preference, with Saturday mornings shared on a fair rota. There are no out-of-hours requirements.

We are very open to part-time or flexible working arrangements and will always aim to shape the role around the right candidate and their lifestyle.

Be part of something exceptional

You’ll be joining a well-established, two-site practice with branches in Arbroath and Forfar, both equipped to a high standard to support modern veterinary medicine. Our facilities include digital radiography, iM3 dental machines, IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, and a recently installed dental x-ray machine in our Arbroath branch, reflecting our commitment to continuous investment and high clinical standards.

Our experienced nursing team plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the practice, delivering nurse-led clinics and providing excellent patient care. We actively encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing, creating an environment where everyone can thrive and continue developing.

Join a team where you truly belong

We pride ourselves on having a genuinely supportive and welcoming team culture. Our current team includes 4 experienced vets and 5 RVNs, who are highly skilled and actively involved in patient care through nurse-led clinics and hands-on support.

We value collaboration, development, and creating an environment where everyone feels supported to do their best work. Whether you’re looking to build on your existing experience or take the next step in your career, you’ll be surrounded by a team that encourages and supports you every step of the way.

Our practice is ideally located on the outskirts of Dundee, giving you the perfect balance of lifestyle and accessibility.
