Established in the local area for over 40 years, Midforest has built a fantastic reputation within the community and is proud to be the go-to practice for many local pet owners.
You'll be joining a close-knit team of 4 vets, 6 experienced RVNs, and a dedicated client care team, supported by certificate holders in ultrasound and dentistry. For those looking to develop further, certificate support is actively encouraged.
The role offers a great balance of consults and surgery, with opportunities to work up medical cases and follow them through. You'll see a varied caseload of cats, dogs, rabbits, and the occasional guinea pig, alongside routine surgery and a strong dentistry caseload.
Based across the Totton and Lyndhurst practices on the edge of the beautiful New Forest, you'll have access to excellent facilities including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment, and everything you need to provide a high standard of patient care.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
• This is a full-time role working four 10 hour days. There is a 1 in 5 Saturday morning rota (8:30am–12:30pm), worked as sole charge.
• There are no out-of-hours or on-call commitments, allowing you to enjoy a genuine work-life balance.

You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:
• A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
