The Well Pet Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our growing team on a 12 month fixed term contract! If you're passionate about animal care and enjoy a dynamic, supportive work environment, we want to hear from you.


About the Role:

As a Vet Nurse, your duties will vary depending on the shift allocated, and you will be in charge of the area assigned. These shifts may include:


*Surgical: Admit and prep patients for surgery, monitor anaesthesia, assist in recovery, and discharge.
* Hospital: Walk and medicate inpatients, monitor their progress, update owners, admit and discharge patients, maintain accurate records.
*Consultation: Greet clients, assist in nurse consult duties, manage the hospital diary, respond to queries, update records.
*Reception: Answer phones, handle basic reception tasks, manage cash transactions.


Shifts and Benefits:

*Hours: Shifts between 8:30 am - 6:30 pm or 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
*One Saturday in four (9:00 am - 7:00 pm) in addition to weekdays.
*No OOH or Sunday work.
*12-month FTC contract with potential for extension.
*Learning Opportunities: We frequently organise training and development for staff to help you grow.


About You:


 Proficient in anaesthesia, surgical, and medical nursing, skilled in nursing consultations, lab work, and reception tasks, strong team player, adaptable to changing environments, and flexible with shift patterns, able to work independently and manage tasks effectively.

Since 2016, The Well Pet Hospital has been Sligo’s dedicated pet-only veterinary hospital, offering top-notch care with a personal touch. Our clinic is equipped with modern facilities, including:


*X-ray & Dental Unit with Dental X-ray
*Ultrasonography & Anaesthetic Monitoring Equipment
*Separate dog and cat wards.
*3 Consulting Rooms, one dedicated for nurse consultations & On-site Laboratory.
