About Pride Veterinary Referral Centre

Pride Veterinary Referral Centre is the central small animal hospital for Scarsdale Veterinary Group, supporting a network of 11 practices and a team of over 300 staff across the East Midlands.

As a large, multidisciplinary referral hospital, Pride offers a full range of specialist services including anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, and cardiology, alongside on-site hydrotherapy and physiotherapy.

The hospital provides 24/7 care supported by a dedicated night team and works closely with the University of Nottingham, with veterinary students rotating through both first opinion and referral services.

How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As a Referral Veterinary Clinician in Diagnostic Imaging, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ultrasound services within a busy multidisciplinary referral hospital.

You’ll work closely with clinicians across multiple disciplines to support complex case investigations, contributing to accurate diagnosis and optimal patient outcomes.

 

Key responsibilities include:


* Performing and interpreting high-quality ultrasound examinations, primarily abdominal cases
* Supporting additional imaging areas including musculoskeletal, cervical, and ocular ultrasound
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to guide case management and diagnostics
* Providing clinical advice and support to referring veterinary surgeons
* Contributing to clinical governance, case discussions, and continuous improvement
* Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the imaging service where appropriate

 

You Might Be a Great Fit If...


We’re looking for a clinician with a strong interest in diagnostic imaging and a passion for delivering high-quality care within a referral environment.

 

You’ll bring:

* RCVS registration with experience in diagnostic imaging (ultrasonography)
* Experience managing or contributing to imaging cases within a referral or busy first opinion environment with a strong imaging caseload
* Advanced Practitioner status, residency training, or working towards a certificate in imaging would be advantageous, but not essential
* Confidence performing and interpreting ultrasound cases, with support available to further develop your skills
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* A commitment to clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and continuous development

This role offers the opportunity to further develop imaging expertise within a well-established referral hospital, supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team.

 

Working Pattern


* Full-time and part-time applications considered
* Full-time colleagues typically work a 4-day week (8:30am – 6:00pm)
* Participation in a 1 in 4 on-call rota
